Be Childlike

“Children are the exemplary human beings;

Loving, spontaneous, trusting, fearless

and creative genius.”

You want to be blissfully happy, unimaginably creative and inordinately courageous then learn it from someone you think is exemplary of such behavior.

Who do you think is the happiest, fearless and the most creative of all?

Child! Remember how it was when you were a child.  How wonderful it was to live a lifetime each day.  Every day expecting, discovering, enjoying, and welcoming new things, new friends in life.  There were no worries of  the future, no regrets of the past.

Be a child at heart again. If you want to enjoy life, you can’t do that with a serious face. Be playful.

Observe children playing, laughing, enjoying with uninhibited exuberance. You’ll notice that they are totally engrossed and relishing each moment. They give their hundred percent to the moment. They view each event with awe and amazement.

Young children live in the present while adults (except few) mostly live in either past or future.

They believe in their free will. They are uninhibited .They have not yet learned to bother what other people think of them, so they are free to do and say the things they truly want to. They are open to mysteries of life and believe that anything  and everything is possible. They believe there are no limits to what they can do.

Briend  them.   They will heal your heart and renew your love for all.

Children love themselves that’s why it’s easier for them to love others. They don’t doubt themselves and therefore have faith in others. They believe in whatever you tell them.

Read this.

A father was at the beach with his four- year old son who saw a seagull lying dead in the sand.

He asked, “Daddy, what happened to him?”

“He died and went to Heaven,” the Dad replied.

The boy thought for a moment and then said,

“Did God throw him back down?”

This reminds me of an incident.  It was long time back, when my son was 5 year old. One day after seeing me meditating he asked, “What are you doing?”

” I am meditating,” I said.

“How do you do it?” He asked

To avoid a long session of question and answers, I made it simple and said, “I close my eyes and try to see the picture of lord Krishna and listen to what he says”.

“That is all, I will also do it “, he said.

He sat next to me and closed his eyes. After some time the doorbell rang, I got up to open the door for my husband. When we entered the room, we found him sitting in the same posture. In order not to disturb him, we went to the living room to have tea. After about 10 minutes when we didn’t hear any noise from that room, I went back to the room and to my surprise, he had still not moved. I tapped him lightly at the shoulder. He opened his eyes and looked around him as if searching for something and said “ Krishn Bagwan khain gaye, abhi to yahein the?”

    Have faith like children.

We all were born as enlightened souls, containing all the creativity and wisdom of the universe. We also  believed in all kinds of possibilities. Let’s learn from children how to be childlike again.

They will teach us:

How easy it is to be simple and spontaneous again.

And not to ever worry in vain.

How easy it is to forgive and forget.

And to say ‘Sorry’ for the mistakes you commit.

How easy it is to make friends.

And make your life an everlasting fun.

How easy it is to chase your dream.

And its fun when you work as a team.

How easy it is to learn new things.

And to remember you are the most precious being.

How easy it is to ask for your right.

And to know that a smile on your face will make others day bright.

How easy it is to ask for a helping hand.

And to believe that fairies will set everything right with their magic wand

How easy it is not be ashamed of your ignorance.

And  to remain pure as your innocence.

How easy it is to have faith that nothing can harm you.

And to snuggle into your mother’s arms to warm you.

How easy it is to love everyone.

And to say ‘Thank you’ when the work is done.
